“Peter Pan: The Hit Broadway Musical rekindled my youthful spirit and left me wistful for the days of unbridled imagination” – BuzzNews
Synopsis
PETER PAN tells the classic and timeless J.M. Barrie story about a young boy who refuses to grow up. On a mission to find stories to entertain and inspire his young cohorts in Neverland – an island refuge for “Lost Boys” – Peter Pan goes back to the real world and meets the Darling children: Wendy, Michael, and John. The children join Peter on his journey back to the magical Neverland, where they learn to fly, go on exciting adventures, defeat the evil Captain Hook, and become changed forever. J.M. Barrie’s imaginative story shines a bright light on a celebrated score that includes adored songs like “I’m Flying,” “I’ve Gotta Crow,” “I Won’t Grow Up,” “Tender Shepherd,” “Never Never Land,” and “Distant Melody.” A fun-filled Broadway hit featuring “singing pirates, daring sword fights, and fantastical make-believe,” PETER PAN is a tale that is filled to the brim with magic, delight, and fairy dust.

History and Awards
As well as the Tony Awards PETER PAN secured in 1955, the production has snagged Tony nominations for Best Revival and Best Actress in a Musical for its 1979, 1990 and 1998 renditions. The original production featured Mary Martin as Peter Pan and Cyril Ritchard as Captain Hook, with both actors winning Tony Awards for their performances. Jerome Robbins directed and choreographed the theater production, which has been revived a number of times and has also been adapted for TV. In fact, PETER PAN was one of the first musicals to be broadcast in full on TV. The astounding success of the broadcast has inspired several television movie stagings of Broadway musicals. The 1955 NBC broadcast of the production was then the highest rated single television show in history. The show was one of the first to employ advanced flying techniques on stage. The triumph of the flying helped lead the way and inspire many future Broadway shows to add advanced technologies in their performances. In 2014, NBC broadcast an adaptation of the musical featuring Allison Williams and Christopher Walken, which starred new numbers.
