Ohio Theatre Rules
Below are the ground rules for anyone attending events at the Ohio Theatre. Please make sure you know the rules and regulations before attending any event.
Camera Policy
Cameras and visual and audio recorders are prohibited in Ohio Theatre at the request of the majority of performers and shows, who do not allow any duplication of their performances.
Opening Time
The Ohio Theater lobby typically opens 1 hour prior to curtain, but, presenters may open the auditorium doors at their discretion.
Dress Code
Ohio Theatre does not have a dress code, as the type of performances offered varies greatly. Some patrons choose to wear suits and dresses, while others dress more casually.
Prohibited Items
» Weapons of any kind or facsimiles of weapons, including firearms, pellet guns, stun guns, martial arts weapons, pepper spray, pocket/utility knives, or cutting instruments
» Illegal drugs or substances
» Flammable liquids
» Fireworks, pyrotechnics, flares, or incendiary devices
» Glass, metal, or plastic containers of any kind including cans, bottles, and flasks
» Outside food or beverages including alcohol
» Oversized bags that exceed 16” x 16” x 8” (See bag policy for more info.)
» Interchangeable/detachable camera lenses (No professional photography unless authorized.)
» Audio/visual recording devices
» Two-way radios
» Laser pointers
» Laptops/tablets
» Beach balls, projectiles, balloons, permanent markers, spray paint
» Drones
» Flashlights
» Signs, flags, banners
» Selfie sticks
» Guests without shoes or shirts
» Novelty masks
» Face paints
» Optical illusions
» Jewelry that could be used as a weapon including chains and studded bracelets
» Pets, other than service animals
» Segways, skateboards, rollerblades, hoverboards, bicycles, helmets, any type of portable seat, other than those approved and required for accessibility
» Noisemakers, bullhorns, or air horns
» Unapproved pamphlets, handouts, advertisements

Security checks
All patrons are subject to inspection, and those who decline may be refused entry. Security checks include the use of metal detectors and physical bag checks.
Bag policy
Guests are allowed one bag, not exceeding 16″ x 16″ x 8″ in size. “Bag” is defined but not limited to purses, tote bags, duffel bags, diaper bags, suitcases, knapsacks, backpacks, packages, cartons, paper sacks, briefcases, portfolio cases, binocular cases, camera equipment cases, and any other container used for carrying or concealing items. Bags may be subject to inspection, and patrons might be asked to open their jackets before entering.
Children and babies ticket policy
To ensure safety, everyone attending shows must have a ticket. If your child will sit on your lap during the performance, you can purchase the cheapest ticket available. It’s not recommended for children under 5 to attend adult shows. All guests must have a ticket regardless of age, and all children must be seated with an adult.
Patron Code of Conduct
Patrons are entitled to an environment where everyone:
» Receives consistent, professional, and courteous treatment from all theater staff.
» Feels comfortable reporting inappropriate behavior to ushers, house managers, or security.
» Complies with venue staff and security instructions on facility operations and emergency response procedures.
» Sits only in assigned seats and shows tickets when requested.
» Consumes alcohol responsibly and in compliance with the law.
» Does not disrupt the event or performers.
» Does not smoke or use tobacco products inside the theater.
» Does not attempt to re-enter without a ticket or proper credential.
» Wears a shirt, shoes, and lower garments at all times.
Please note: Patrons engaging in disruptive behavior, such as fighting, throwing objects, using offensive language or gestures, attempting to enter restricted areas, or any actions negatively impacting others, will be immediately removed from the venue and may face police intervention for these violations.
