After performances in the world’s most celebrated venues such as Broadway itself and London’s West End, Hamilton will now also be playing for a limited season this summer in Ohio Theatre of Columbus, an equally famous venue renown for its unrivaled facilities fit to present world-class productions and shows.

Hamilton honors the life of Alexander Hamilton, written and composed by the multi-talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, basing it off the 2004 biography of Ron Chernow. It recounts the historical times of Alexander Hamilton in a ‘hipper’ manner, remaining dedicated to the truth behind his life but with and musical scoring that makes Hamilton very entertaining. Hamilton initially began off Broadway in August of 2015 and was instantly met with awesome reviews from its opening night. Along with a number of critics and reviewers, The Washington Post, called it “making ecstatic history”, as the show’s performance with its awesome cast including the likes of show creator Lin-Manuel Miranda himself in the lead role and Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff, impressed audiences in its premiere with a memorable opening night. Hamilton went on over the next 10 years to collect eleven Tony Awards from 16 nominations, plus Olivier, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize Awards.

Ever since its debut, the Musical has also gone on to perform in lots of locations around the globe, where it has been getting continuously positive reviews. BroadwayWorld calls The Musical “the hottest ticket in town”, as it lends itself to a bigger range in audience due to it being relatable to both the older generations who appreciate the history behind Hamilton, and the newer generations that wanted the new and artistic concept behind this production. Over in London’s West End, TimeOut mentions their worry behind Hamilton being overly hyped up, but that “Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical about Alexander Hamilton, the first secretary of the U.S. Treasury, is actually better than the hype suggests”. More so, recently the touring cast in its Manila, Philippines’ performance, PEP PH describes the production as a “visual and sensory feast that adds layers of depth to the narrative”; “This musical is a masterpiece not because it tells a flawless story, but because it brilliantly captures the essence of the imperfect human experience, and in doing so, it achieves perfection on the stage”, they add.

Newspaper critics and viewers alike agree that the show is a must-attend this summer as it continues its performances all over America.
