Over the course of their career, the Temptations released four Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles, fourteen R&B number-one singles, and an amazing 42 Top Ten Hits, earning the band three Grammy Awards, becoming the first Motown recording act to win a Grammy Award with the track “Cloud Nine” in 1969 and in 2013 The Temptations received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. “My Girl”, “Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)”, and “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone”, are among The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. In 1973, “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone” won the Temptations their second Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Group. The 1984 recording of “Treat Her Like a Lady”, the single became their biggest success on R&B radio since 1975. Over 50 years and multiple chart-topping songs later, “My Girl”, is still their signature song to this day, and would not be complete without the band’s choreography, distinct harmonies, and dapper dress style.
